It comes with 2 cameras: a buttonless, sleek-looking front camera, and a discreet rear camera. The X700 is very easy to use, thanks to the 2.7” LCD touchscreen display. A wide viewing angle gives a full view of the road while 1080p Full HD recording ensures a crystal-clear picture day or night. The X700 is designed as a plug and play solution with the ability to power directly from the vehicle’s cigarette lighter socket. Hardwiring is also an option if you want to enable parking mode recording for when the vehicle is parked.
One of the interesting things about the Thinkware X700 is that it helps capture more of the road than just the drive. The onboard road safety features advise the driver of hazards on the road ahead that the GPS is aware of. For example, speed and red-light cameras at intersections are mentioned when they’re in close proximity. The ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) keeps tabs on the dangers around you, including unsafe lane changes and potential front collisions.
Unlike other Thinkware cameras, you do not need to download apps onto your smartphone to manage your video footage files. Everything is done right on the touchscreen interface so you don’t have to worry about device compatibility or hotspot connections. There is a viewer software that you can download for your computer or laptop to review the footage files on the microSD card.
