In our continuous effort to support our local community, BlackboxMyCar has taken another significant step in our collaboration with the Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS) Animal Hospital. On July 23rd, we proudly donated over $26,000 in-kind to this remarkable organization, marking an extension of our two-year partnership aimed at enhancing animal welfare.
RAPS Animal Hospital, a not-for-profit community-supported veterinary facility in Richmond, BC, offers quality care and support to a diverse range of animals including homeless, surrendered, abandoned, abused, neglected, orphaned, and at-risk animals. Our partnership with RAPS began in January 2023, when Joseph, our Director of Marketing & New Business, visited Eyal Lichtmann, the CEO at RAPS Animal Hospital.
During this visit, we donated a Thinkware U1000 dash cam and a BlackboxMyCar PowerCell 8 battery pack. This initial donation was intended to aid RAPS in their daily operations and ensure safe travel for their veterinary team as they care for animals in need
Following this, in May 2023, we celebrated our 11th anniversary by donating over $12,000 to support RAPS through the PostMedia Network’s Support & Buy Local Auction.
This donation included 16 separate packages of Nextbase dash cams and accessories, which helped raise funds for RAPS’ marketing efforts and promoted their valuable services. This event highlighted BlackboxMyCar’s commitment to enhancing animal welfare and supporting local initiatives dedicated to animal care.

Our latest $26,000 in-kind donation, consisting of Nextbase, BlackVue, VIOFO, and GNET dash cams along with essential accessories, marks a new milestone in our ongoing support for RAPS. These donations will be sold through RAPS’ thrift stores across Richmond and Surrey, with proceeds reinvested into their services, ultimately benefiting the animals they care for.
The donation is also timely, as RAPS is set to expand in September 2024, effectively doubling the capacity of their hospital at the Richmond Auto Mall.
This expansion will allow RAPS to assist even more animals in the community, reflecting their dedication to animal welfare and echoing our commitment to supporting these efforts. We had the honour of touring these expanded facilities during our visit there in July, and we're beyond excited to watch RAPS grow.
