The VIOFO A229 Pro 1-Channel front camera is equipped with Sony STARVIS 2.0 image sensor. Through the 8MP IMX678 for its front, the VIOFO A229 Pro 1-Channel provides superior footage quality in clarity and colour.

Equipped with multi-exposure HDR, the VIOFO A229 Pro 1-Channel records 4K UHD @ 30 fps at 140º field of view ahead. Compatible with a VIOFO CPL Filter and BlackboxMyCar Aqua Shield for sharper and clearer visibility.

Moreover, VIOFO’s parking mode options also include:  

  • Auto Event Detection automatically starts recording when movement or impacts are detected.

  • Time Lapse records video continuously at low frames rates to reduce recording size.

  • Low Bitrate Mode continues recording audio and video normally in parking mode, except for using a high compression ratio which allows extended recording times, for example, overnight recording without overwriting the recordings from the previous day.

Viofo A229 Pro

This dash cam rocks, I have also two of the Viofo A129 Pro Duo and I can tell you that don't even compare with the A229 Pro, the clarity of the video is like nothing else even for my old eyes, I'm 70 years young and I can tell you that I'm going to enjoy this camera for years to come. Thank you BlackBoxMyCar for working with me to get this camera I am loving it.

For days I went down the rabbit hole of dash cam reviews trying to decide what I wanted and ultimately settled on this Viofo.
It was important for me it be good in low light and just have the best resolution possible. Installation was fine - I did end up hardwiring it with the Viofo hardwire kit (which doesn't come with fuse taps - ridiculous) and the parking mode works exactly as promised. Take some time to figure out exactly where you want the camera to sit on your windshield before you actually mount it. I messed up but Viofo sent me additional stickies without hesitation (their customer support is awesome).
The customization available on the dash cam itself is excellent. You can mute all the beeps and start up noises, turn off indicator lights if you want, and decide after how long the screen shuts off.
Overall I couldn't be happier. It's a great safety net to have and I'm sure I made the right choice.

My wife and I love her VIOFO A229 so much that we bought one each of the plus series for our twin daughters!

Great camera and great service
